Key Scriptures: 1st Samuel 30:6-8 “David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me an ephod. Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” He answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
David and his men returned to their encampment to find their women and children gone and their goods plundered. The men were bitter and blamed David. David turned to the Lord for strength and directions. God assured him of victory and restoration of all that was lost!
Thankful for strength from God: God gives strength to His people through His Word and promises! “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:12-13)
