Talking to Jesus!

Scripture reading for September 25th:  Song of Songs 7-8, Isaiah 1-2, 1st Timothy 2

Key Scriptures:  1st Timothy 2:1-4 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Paul encouraged Timothy to teach the church to pray.  Prayer for those in authority was to be foundational to the church being able to function under the world and government structures and fulfill the mission of God–preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all men that all might be saved and know Christ.  The church must pray first of all and obey His voice.

Song of Songs 8:13  “O you who dwell in the gardens, with companions listening for your voice; let Me hear it.”

Prayer:  Lord, I pray today for our government leaders, church leaders and all in authority in home, work and government.  Let them rule under Your authority and may the Gospel go forth to all people. Amen.
