Faith presses past obstacles!
Scripture reading for January 21st: Matthew 15, Psalm 15, Prov. 15
Key Scriptures: Matthew 15:25-28 “But she came and knelt before Him, saying, “Lord, help me.” And He answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” The Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.”
A Canaanite woman pressed in to see Jesus concerning her daughter who was oppressed by demonic forces. Jesus’ disciples wanted to send her away and Jesus initially gave her a discouraging statement. He said He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel and asked if it was right to give the “children’s bread to dogs?” This lady was not from Israel (considered a ‘dog’), but pressed in to ask Jesus for the crumbs of the children’s bread for her daughter. Jesus marveled at her apt answer: “Great Faith!” Her daughter was instantly healed!
Faith’s confession: Lord, I desire to press past obstacles and receive what I need from You because I have total faith in You and Your Word.
Proverbs 15:23 “To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is.”
