The diligent few!
Scripture reading for March 20: Luke 13, Psalm 57, Proverbs 26
Key Scriptures: Luke 13:22-25 “He went on His way through towns and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem. And someone said to Him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.'”
Jesus Christ is the ‘narrow door’ to salvation. As He journeyed to Jerusalem for the last time in His earthly ministry, He answered a question from one of the Jews listening to Him. They asked about how many would be saved. Jesus told them that they must strive to go through the narrow door because many would try to get in after the door was shut and would not be able. Just hearing Jesus speak or even eating with Him would not give them salvation, faith must be acted on.
Faith Confession: Jesus, I believe that You are the ‘narrow door’ that I have entered for my salvation. I daily surrender my life to You, opening the door of my heart to You to have Your way in my life.
Proverbs 26:12 “Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”
