Weeping over the lost!
Scripture reading for March 28th: Luke 19, Psalm 63, Proverbs 1
Key Scriptures: Luke 19:41-44 “And when He drew near and saw the city, He wept over it, saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem as He came into it for the final week of His ministry on earth. He had taught in the streets and healed many among the citizens. He had called for repentance and preached the good news of the kingdom of God. But their rejection of Him and God’s Word brought darkness and judgment. They failed to recognize their time of visitation and would suffer eternal loss.
Faith Confession: Lord, help me to see with Your eyes and have Your compassion for people and their cities. Let me weep over the lost and share the Christ’s good news. May none miss the time of their visitation!
Proverbs 1:32-33 “For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them; but whoever listens to Me will dwell secure, and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.”
