Scripture reading for May 20th: Acts 11, Psalm 100, Proverbs 7
Key Scriptures: Acts 11:19-21 “Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the Word to no one except Jews. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.”
Persecution broke out against the believers in Jerusalem following the stoning of Stephen. The believers were scattered and wherever they went, they ended up sharing the Word of Jesus Christ. Some spoke only to other Jews, but others spoke to Gentiles. God’s anointing was evident in that many believed and turned in repentance and faith to Jesus Christ as Lord.
Faith Confession: I believe that God’s Word is powerful to save both Jew and Gentile. Lord, let Your anointing and hand be upon me as I share each day. Let many turn to You in repentance and faith.
Psalm 100: 1-3 “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into His presence with singing! Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”
