Faith and household salvation!
Scripture reading for May 27th: Acts 16, Psalm 105, Proverbs 12
Key Scriptures: Acts 16:30-34 “Then he (the Philippian jailer) brought them out and said,”Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they (Paul and Silas) said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the Word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.”
Paul and Silas had been beaten and put in stocks for preaching the Gospel. About midnight, they were singing praises to God from their cell and God sent an earthquake that opened all the cell doors and released the prisoners from their bonds! The jailer was ready to take his own life thinking all the prisoners would escape when he was stopped by Paul and Silas. The jailer asked an amazing question: “What must I do to be saved?” Paul gave him a simple faith confession: “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household!”
Faith confession: I believe on the Lord Jesus as Savior and claim my household, children and grandchildren and generations to come, for salvation through faith in Jesus as well! I believe this good word and am glad!
Proverbs 12:25 “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”
