Under the Law of Christ!
Scripture reading for July 17th: 1st Corinthians 9, Psalm 142, Proverbs 18
Key Scriptures: 1st Corinthians 9: 19-22 “For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak, I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.”
Paul explained his own attitude of love for those God sent him to reach with the Gospel. He tried to identify with people and meet them where they were living in order to win the right to share the Gospel with them. His motivation was their salvation, not satisfying his own personal preferences or cultural upbringing. He was mindful of the law of Christ which was loving God and loving his neighbors.
Faith Confession: Lord, I want to love You and fulfill the law of Christ in loving those you send me to in order to see them saved. Open doors for me to share the Gospel today.
Psalm 142:1-2 “With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord. I pour out my complaint before Him; I tell my trouble before Him.”
