Pray for those in authority!
Scripture reading for September 25th: 1 Timothy 2, Psalm 42, Proverbs 7
Key Scriptures: 1st Timothy 2:1-6 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.”
Paul urged Timothy to lead the believers in all kinds of prayers for those in authority. All those in leadership are part of God’s established covering and are under God’s authority even if they are not believers. Prayer helps created an order in our community that allows believers to lead a peaceful life and share the Gospel with all men. This Gospel is that Jesus Christ is the one mediator between God and man and He alone gave Himself as a ransom for us to free us from the penalty and power of our sins.
Faith Confession: I pray for those in authority and value the freedom granted to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ will all who will listen. Jesus Christ is the one mediator between God and man.
Proverbs 7:1-3 “My son, keep My words and treasure up My commandments with you; keep My commandments and live; keep My teaching as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.”
