Jesus speaks Truth in Love!
Scripture reading for December 2nd: Revelation 2, Psalm 107-108, Proverbs 24
Key Scriptures: Revelation 2:2-5 “”I know your works, your toil and patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for My Name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.””
Jesus revealed Himself to John during worship on Patmos. He gave John letters to seven churches that John was an overseer in. John was to write down and deliver these prophetic warnings from the Great Shepherd. From the letter to Ephesus, we can see that Jesus saw both the good and the evil. He commended them and reprimanded them, calling for repentance from a loss of first love. This was a life-giving rebuke from the Savior!
Faith Confession: Lord, thank You for speaking to Your Church and people. Thank You for watching over us and speaking truth plainly. Forgive me for waning love; Your Goodness has lead me to repentance and life.
Proverbs 24:26 “Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips.”
