Resting in Jesus for Holiness!
Scripture reading for February 20th: Leviticus 8-11, Psalm 110, Hebrews 4
Key Scriptures: Hebrews 4:11-13 “Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
Nothing is hidden from our Lord, visible or invisible. There is no place where we can hide or nothing that will cover up any sin or disobedience to God’s eternal Word. The Word of God is alive and active. It is able to search out the hidden places of our hearts and inner man. Our only hope of holiness is to confess sin and repent, resting our hope on the Word of God that speaks mercy through Jesus and His shed blood.
Faith Confession and prayer: I rest in the shed blood of Jesus Christ and God’s Word promising forgiveness and cleansing to all who come to Jesus. Lord, help me to preach the whole Word of God to each person and congregation that they might rest in Jesus.
Leviticus 11:44 “For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy.”
Psalm 110:3 “Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of Your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of Your youth will be Yours.”
