Receive Jesus’ Words!
Scripture reading for November 6th: Ezekiel 34-36; Psalm 86; John 12
Key Scriptures: John 12:44-48 “And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him Who sent Me. And whoever sees Me sees Him Who sent Me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My Words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and does not receive My Words has a judge; the Word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”
As Jesus approached the end of His ministry, He plainly called out to whoever would listen, encouraging them to believe in Him and receive His Words. He again proclaimed that He was the Light of the world and His Words would bring light as well. His Word would bring salvation which was His main purpose. Those rejecting His Word and Him would be judged by the Word they rejected. There is a day coming–the ‘last day’, when the judgment will come. Choices determine destiny!
Psalm 86:5 “For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon You. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.”
Faith confession and prayer: Lord, I believe in You and the Father Who sent You. Your life and Words bring me eternal light. Help me to share Your Word under the power of the Holy Spirit calling men to choose life and light in Jesus Christ as their eternal destiny.
Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
