The Everlasting Inheritance!

Scripture reading for January 27th: Genesis 47-48, Psalm 25, Galatians 3

Galatians 3:25-29 “But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”

Many people look forward to what might come to them through their father and/or mother when they pass on. It is either written in the will or determined by the laws of the state if there is no will or ‘covenant’. In God’s economy, He has made us promises and given us a ‘Covenant’ through the body and blood of His Son, Jesus Christ and recorded in His holy Word. By faith in Jesus Christ, we become one with Christ and enter into God’s eternal Covenant. We become heirs with Christ and enter into God’s promised inheritance. Our mission and joy is to share this ‘Good News’ of God’s Covenant in Jesus Christ with the whole world. His Father’s heart is to include all peoples, tribes, tongues and nations in relationship with His Son by faith. Humble ‘fear’ of the Lord makes this available.

Genesis 48:3-4 “And Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me, and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples and will give this land to your offspring after you for an everlasting possession.'”

Prayer: Father God, I am anticipating my full inheritance when You return for Your people. I have been baptized into Christ and am one with Him and all who believe. I enter into my inheritance–a relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit and God as my Father. Keep my soul in quiet rest and continue to reveal Your Son to me and use me to proclaim this Good News.

Psalm 25:13-14 “His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He makes known to them His covenant.”
