The Lord of “Break-through”
Scripture reading for April 17th: 2nd Samuel 3-6, John 9
Key Scriptures: 2nd Samuel 5:19-20 “And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.” And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there. And he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breaking flood.””
King David was victorious when he inquired of the Lord and carefully obeyed His instructions. David also gave God the credit for the victory. He proclaimed this victory as the “Lord breaking through my enemies like a breaking flood.”
John 9:24-25 “So for the second time they (the Pharisees) called the man who had been blind and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man (Jesus) is a sinner.” He answered, “Whether He is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for breaking through against all Your enemies and bringing light to a darkened world. Enable me to walk in Your light today and reflect it to this dark world. Amen.
