Tag: Amos 9:11-12
Scripture reading for December 14th: Amos 7-9, Obadiah, Revelation 12
Key Scriptures: Revelation 12:7-8, 10 “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. . . . And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,”Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
John describes a war in heaven between the dragon (the devil or Satan) and Michael, the protecting angel of Israel. The dragon lost access to heaven where he had accused God’s people before the throne. He was hurled down to earth along with the evil angels (demons) who followed his rebellion. But Satan had no power over God’s people. They overcame him by dependence on Christ Jesus’ blood and their testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord!
Amos 9:11-12 “”In that day I will raise up the booth of David that is fallen and repair its breaches, and raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old, that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations who are called by My Name,” declares the Lord who does this.”
Prayer: Thank You for being faithful to Your people and for Your justice in heaven and on earth. Help me to overcome the evil one by Christ’s blood and my testimony of faith. Amen.
