Scripture reading for June 1st: Psalm 15-19
Key Scriptures: Psalm 16:8-11 “I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because You will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let Your Holy One see decay. You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.”
King David placed God in the first place in his life. This gave him great security, not only in this life but even after death! He was assured that his body would not just decay, but one day he would enjoy everlasting and eternal joy in God’s presence–even at His right hand! Jesus Christ, a son of David, Son of God also took comfort and courage from these words of God!
Rejoice with your tongue: “The fact that God raised Him (Jesus Christ) from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words: “‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’ So it is stated elsewhere: “‘You will not let Your Holy One see decay.” (Acts 13:34-35)
