Steadfast Confidence!

Scripture reading for October 19th:  Isaiah 64-66, Jeremiah 1, Hebrews 6

Key Scriptures:  Hebrews 6:10-12  “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in service to the saints, as you still do.  And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

After warning them again of the dangers of falling away from Christ, the writer of Hebrews encourages them to steadfast service and full confidence in Christ and His promises.  They were to guard against sluggishness (spiritual laziness) by imitating those who set a good example of faith and patience.  God’s promises are awaiting their faithful perseverance.

Isaiah 64:8  “But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay and You are our Potter; we are all the work of Your hand.”

Prayer:  Lord, help me to keep my confidence in You and Your promises firm and growing.  As clay, I need You as the Potter in my daily life.  Amen.
