Scripture reading for December 18th: Job 15-17, Revelation 14
Key Scriptures: Revelation 14: 14-16 “Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud One like a Son of Man, with a golden crown on His head, and a sharp sickle in His hand. And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to Him Who sat on the cloud, “Put in Your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” So He Who sat on the cloud swung His sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.”
John beholds a white cloud with “One like a Son of Man” seated on it. It was the Lord Jesus Christ, ready to judge an earth ripened for judgment. The appointed hour had arrived and the command was given to the Lord Jesus to swing His sickle. The sickle was swung and the earth was reaped in one swipe. All judgment has been given to the Son of Man, the Lord Jesus and after the time of showing mercy has ended, the time of judgment and reward will come quickly. Woe to those who are ripe for this harvest!
Faith confession and prayer: Lord Jesus, You alone are my Witness and Advocate in heaven. You will plead my case before God and I shall be saved. Help me to witness for You here to help many escape the wrath of Your judgment and going a way from which there is no return.
Job 16:19 “Even now, behold, my Witness is in heaven, and He Who testifies for me is on high. My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God, that He would argue the case of a man with God, as a son of man does with his neighbor. For when a few years have come I shall go the way from which I shall not return.”
