Thankful for a God who keeps records!
Scripture reading for May 24th: Job 30-34
Key Scriptures: Job 31:13-15 “If I have denied justice to my menservants and maidservants when they had a grievance against me, what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account? Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One form us both within our mothers?”
Job was examining his life by probing his heart for hidden sins. He knew that he must treat people fairly, even those who were his hired servants. He acknowledged that God would one day confront him and he would have to give an account of his stewardship. All men would answer and that made him think soberly!
Thankful for God’s records: (Jesus) “But I tell you that men will have to give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37)
