Tag: Joshua replaces Moses
Scripture reading for February 26th: Numbers 25-27, Mark 13
Key Scriptures: Mark 13:24-27 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send out the angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.”
The disciples had asked Jesus about what it would be like when He came for His people. Jesus gave them a direct answer. Tribulation would precede His coming along with great signs in the heavens and on earth. Jesus would come with power and great glory and His angels would gather His elect people to be with Him forever. We are reminded of this event in Numbers as Joshua succeeds Moses in leadership.
Numbers 27:15-18 “Moses spoke to the Lord, saying, “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation who shall go out before them and com in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be as sheep that have no shepherd.” So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua, the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him.””
Prayer: Lord, thank You for choosing Jesus (Joshua) to lead us out and bring us into Your eternal inheritance. May we be ready when He returns in power and great glory! Amen.
