Let the heavens rejoice!

Scripture reading for December 27th:  Revelation 8-12

Key Scriptures:  Revelation 12:10-12  “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:  “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ.  For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.  They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink back from death.  Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them!  But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you!  He is filled with fury, because he knows his time is short.”

As a result of a war in heaven, Satan and his rebellious angels will be cast out during the final great tribulation.  They are cast down to earth and Satan can no longer accuse the believers before God’s throne.  He is filled with wrath and fury because his time is short before being cast into the place of punishment God has prepared for him and his fallen angels.  The heavens rejoice but there is woe on the earth for the lost!

Rejoicing in Christ’s victory:  “Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant and every thing in them.  Then all the trees of the forest will sin for joy; they will sing before the Lord for He comes, He comes to judge the earth.  He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His truth.”   (Psalm 96:11-13)
