Behold the King of kings!

Scripture reading for December 26th: Revelation 19, Psalm 107, Ecclesiastes 9

Revelation 19:11-15 “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The One sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a Name written that no one knows but Himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the Name by which He is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has a Name written, King of kings and Lord of Lords.

As John’s visit to heaven comes to a climax, he hears a great multitude in heaven crying out in worship to God for His great power, salvation and glory, and for the justice and judgments poured out on the earth and on those who killed the saints. It was a time of great celebration and rejoicing, as this great multitude prepared for the marriage of the Lamb! The Bride was ready, clothed in pure white linen. John was told specifically to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” After this, heaven was opened and John beheld a white horse, and the Rider, the Lamb of God, clothed in a blood-dipped robe and having a sharp sword coming from His mouth. He is coming with the armies of heaven, clothed in white linen–His Bride! His title is written on His thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Psalm 107:42-43 “The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord.”

Prayer: Father God, thank You for this amazing vision given to John for Your people of all generations! I look forward to Your return and to being part of the bridal company! I have heard the Gospel invitation and humbly accepted Your steadfast covenant love for eternity! I wait patiently for Jesus Christ and the white horse of my King of kings! Open doors for me to share this Good News today that all may hear!

Ecclesiastes 9:17-18 “The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.”

Prophesy: The testimony of Jesus Christ

Scripture reading for December 28th: Revelation 19

Key Scriptures: Revelation 19:9-10 “And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy.”

John is nearing the culmination of his time in heaven after entering the open door he saw while worshiping on the Isle of Patmos. He was told to write what he saw and is again invited to write down a blessing: “Blessed are those invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” This angel had followed the vision John had of the Lord reigning and the announcement of the marriage of the Lamb and the bride being made ready with fine linen. John was so overcome, that he fell down to worship the angel, and was admonished by him not to do that. This angel was a fellow-servant, not God and not to be worshiped! It was Jesus Christ alone Who deserved all worship. His testimony was the spirit of all prophesy that had been presented to John to write down. John must keep his worship for Jesus alone and give a clear prophetic message of Jesus Christ as Lord.

Revelation 19:11-13 “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The One sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a Name written that no one knows but Himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the Name by which He is called is The Word of God.”

Faith confession and prayer: Father God, Thank You for this prophesy and revelation of Jesus Christ. Thank You for giving me a testimony of Jesus Christ to share with the world and to help me overcome the world system of Babylon, my flesh, and the devil. I ask for continued grace to share my testimony of Jesus and speak prophetically to this lost world that Your will may be done on earth as in heaven! I want to be with Jesus Christ when He returns!

Revelation 19:14-16 “And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following Him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has a Name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.”

“What is truth?”

Scripture reading for November 16th: John 18

Key Scriptures: John 18:33-37 “So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered, “Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about Me?” Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have You done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But My kingdom is not from the world.” Then Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world–to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?””

Jesus was taken before Pontius Pilate because the Jews wanted Jesus to die and they did not have authority to execute anyone. They charged Jesus with insurrection–planning to set Himself up as King. So Pilate asked Jesus if He was the “King of the Jews?” Jesus asked him if this was Pilate’s own idea or others had said that. Pilate evaded answering Jesus but Jesus did answer him. He plainly stated that He was a king with a kingdom that was not of this world. He came to earth to bear witness to the truth and those who were in the truth would hear Jesus’ voice. To this Pilate responded, “What is truth?” proving that he was not himself of the truth. He could hear Jesus’ voice, but the truth of God’s Son, the King of Kings was hidden from his sight because of unbelief! How many others today have the same unbelief?

John 18:38-40 “After he had said this, he (Pilate) went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in Him. but You have a custom that I should release one man for you at the Passover. So do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” They cried out again, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.”

Faith confession and prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe that You are King of Kings, and my Lord. Your kingdom is not of this world and now I am also not of this world. You have told us not to fight, but to love one another in order to show the world that You are the King. Speak to me today directing me in Your ways to proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ the King of kings.

Revelation 19:11,16 “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. The One sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. . . . On His robe and on His thigh He has a Name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Honor Christ Jesus!

Scripture reading for October 1st:  Isaiah 15-17, 1 Timothy 6

Key Scriptures:  1st Timothy 6:13-17  “I charge you in the presence of God, Who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in His testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will display at the proper time–He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, Who alone has immortality, Who dwells in unapproachable light, Whom no one has ever seen or can see.  To Him be honor and eternal dominion.  Amen.”

Paul charged Timothy with the sacred duty to love God and love others.  Christ Jesus could return at any time.  He, alone, is worthy of our love and obedience as He is King of kings and Lord of lords.  His holiness and power deserve honor and He will have eternal dominion.

Isaiah 16:5 “. . . then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David One who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.”

Prayer:  Lord, we long for Your return and the righteous rule of Your glorious throne.  We love You and give You the honor and obedience due the King of kings.  Amen.
