Key Scriptures: Philippians 4:17-20 “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Paul closed his letter to the Philippians thanking them for sharing and sending offerings to help him. They were one of the only churches to do so at this time. He had received their gift and expressed his thanks, stating that they were “a fragrant offering” and they pleased God as well. He also shared that their gifts would increase the fruit of souls won and reached and that would also credit to their account. In turn, they could count on God meeting all their needs through Christ’s unfathomable riches! Amen!
Faith Confession: I choose to be generous and give to the work of our Lord, tithes and offerings. I am thankful for fruit that will bring glory to our Lord Jesus. My God will supply all my needs if I am generous towards His kingdom.
Proverbs 24:3-4 “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
All needs met!
Scripture reading for September 5th: Proverbs 1-4, Philippians 4
Key Scriptures: Philippians 4:17-20 “Not that I am looking for a gift, but I am looking for what may be credited to your account. I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
Paul had received a generous and appreciated offering from the believers in Philippi. He let them know that it was a blessing and that God saw it as a fragrant offering acceptable in His sight. Not only that, but God would meet all their needs as well, according to His riches in glory! Our God owns it all–Amen!
Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first-fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
Prayer: Lord, thank You for meeting all my needs. Help me to always honor you with my wealth and giving me the ability through Jesus Christ to offer acceptable sacrifices. Amen.
