No more delay!

Scripture reading for December 14th: Job 1-3, Psalm 29, Revelation 10

Revelation 10: 4-7 “And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.” And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven and swore by Him Who lives forever and ever, Who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay, but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as He announced to His servants the prophets.”

John is shown a vision in heaven of a ‘mighty angel’ shining with glory and big enough to plant his feet on the land and the sea. This angel cried out with a loud voice like a roaring lion. In answer to his cry, seven thunders sounded. John was about to write down what they said, when he was told to seal up this revelation and not write it down. This likely indicates that there are some events of the great tribulation that are still to be revealed. The angel announced with an oath taken in the Name of the One seated on the throne, that there would be no more delay. All the mysteries of God written down by His prophets would be fulfilled when this seventh and last trumpet sounded. God does nothing by way of judgment unless He warns His people by His prophets. (Amos 3:7) Soon, no more delay.

Psalm 29:7-9 “The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare, and in His temple all cry, “Glory!”

Prayer: Glory to our Father! Now and forever and ever! Thank You Lord for Your voice that brings Truth and Life. Thank You for creating the heavens and the earth and all life by Your Word. Thank You for sending Your Son, the Word made flesh, to bring salvation. Thank You for sending out Your Word by the prophets and Your Son and those who are His disciples. I look forward to the fulfilment of Your Word!

Job 1:20-22 “Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the Name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not charge God with wrong.”
