The time has come!
Scripture reading for December 14th: Revelation 11, Psalm 99, Ecclesiastes 1
Revelation 11:15-18 “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty, Who is and Who was, for You have taken Your great power and begun to reign. The nations raged, but Your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear Your Name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.””
As events in heaven are revealed to John to write down, John watches as the seventh angel blows his trumpet and announce the eternal reign of the King Jesus Christ. There is immediate worship around the throne as the elders fall on their faces proclaiming this new beginning. They decree that the nations of earth were full of rage against God’s King but God’s wrath against this rebellion would bring judgment and eternal loss. God’s great love would also bring reward to His servants, prophets and saints. They would see the destruction and punishment of the wicked and those who destroyed the earth and God’s people. All vanity would be judged and Jesus Christ exalted over all nations forever and ever.
Psalm 99:1-2 “The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake! The Lord is great in Zion; He is exalted over all the peoples!”
Prayer: Father God, I exalt You and worship You in holy fear and awe at Your plan for justice and Jesus’ rule on the earth! I am thankful that You, alone, know the hearts of all and judge with equity through Your Son Jesus Christ. I look forward to this seventh and last trumpet and the eternal reign of my King! Use me today to share His love and mercy with those bent on destroying the earth and his people.
Ecclesiastes 1:14-15 “I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind. What is crooked cannot be made straight and what is lacking cannot be counted.”
The Time has Come!
Scripture reading for December 15th: Job 4-7, Psalm 99, Revelation 11
Revelation 11: 15-18 “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty, Who is and Who was, for You have taken Your great power and begun to reign. The nations raged, but Your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for the rewarding of Your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear Your Name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”
God’s mercy is very patient, because He does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance. But John is shown the blowing of the seventh trumpet and heard the announcement that the “time has come.” The King of Kings takes His eternal throne and reigns forever and ever. This causes the rebellious nations to rage with anger and the wrath of the King is unleashed. The time for judgment has arrived! The dead will be judged and the faithless and unbelieving wicked shall be destroyed. God’s prophets and saints will be rewarded! These rewarded will be forgiven of their sins by the King Himself, Who has paid with His blood for their cleansing and reward! This calls for worship in heaven, on earth and universally!
Psalm 99:8-9 “O Lord our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings. Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy mountain; for the Lord our God is Holy.”
Prayer: Holy and omnipotent Father, we give You thanks for Who You are, the rightful King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You alone have power without measure to judge the wicked and reward the righteous, saved by Your amazing grace. Thank You for Your declaration of forgiveness for believers and the gift of Your righteousness through Jesus Christ. I am grateful my deserved punishment is now a promise of life!
Job 4:7-8 “Remember: who that was innocent ever perished? Or where were the upright cut off? As I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same.”
The appointed time!

John recorded the seven angels blowing the seven trumpets that followed the time of silence in heaven. There were loud voices declaring the victory of God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the beginning of their eternal reign over all creation. The elders around the throne fell on their faces and worshiped God for Who He is and was and will be and for the time of judgment coming for the dead and reward for the saints. God is just and will justly judge all and destroy those who reject Jesus Christ and destroy the earth. Those who honor Him will be fully rewarded for their faith.
Psalm 99:4-5 “The King in His might loves justice. You have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt the Lord our God; worship at His footstool! Holy is He!”
Faith confession and prayer: Lord Jesus, I worship You as the eternal King of kings. I look forward to the appointed time of the judgment and reward! You are just, righteous and holy and my confidence is in Your Word! Help me to share Your Word enabling all to find reward at judgment day.
Job 4:6-7 “Is not your fear of God your confidence, and the integrity of your ways your hope? Remember: who that was innocent ever perished? Or where were the upright cut off?”
The Seventh Trumpet

Key Scriptures: Revelation 11:15-18 “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty, Who is and Who was, for You have taken Your great power and begun to reign. The nations raged, but Your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding Your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear Your Name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.””
The drama in heaven was coming to a glorious conclusion. The seventh angel blew the seventh and last trumpet causing the announcement of the completed conquest of the kingdom of the world by the kingdom of the Lord Jesus. The Lord took the throne and would reign eternally! The elders worshiped God and thanked Him for His glorious rule, righteous judgments and rich reward!
Faith Confession: I wait expectantly for this final trumpet and the completion of salvation for the saints and prophets as well as the judgment of the wicked. Our God reigns forever and ever!
Psalm 125:1-2 “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, from this time forth and forevermore.”
God will Reign Forever!

Trumpets were used in Israel to call people worship, to battle, or to announce God’s direction. Here, the seventh trumpet that John heard brought an angelic announcement. The kingdom of God and Christ had come in its fullness. The God Who was, Who is, and Who will be, is King forever! As the announcement was made, God’s heavenly temple was opened and the ark of His Covenant was seen! The prophets called the people to be ready!
Amos 5:14-15 “Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”
Prayer: Lord, I await the fullness of Your eternal reign! Jesus is Lord of my life! Help me today to order my steps in your pathway, to hate evil and love good and stay in Your grace through Jesus Christ. Amen.
