Faith brings God’s riches to all!

Scripture reading for May 29th: Romans 10, Psalm 106, Proverbs 13

Romans 10:8-13 “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is the Word of faith that we proclaim): because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing His riches on all who call on Him. For “everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.””

Faith comes from hearing and receiving the Word of God. The Apostle Paul had preached and taught God’s Word to these Roman believers, carefully laying it out in this letter. Keeping the law was not possible for any Jew and God, through His Son, put both Jew and Gentile on the level ground of hearing and faith. Anyone who hears the Gospel of grace and through faith in Jesus Christ believes in his heart that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, died and was raised from the dead to justify them will be saved. No one who puts their faith in Jesus will come to shame! All will receive Christ’s abundant riches of salvation and forgiveness of sins simply for calling on the Name of Jesus! “Thank You Lord!” is all we can say! Amen!

Psalm 106:47-48 “Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to Your Holy Name and glory in Your praise. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the Lord!”

Prayer: Father God, Thank You for the indescribable riches of salvation given to me and all who call upon Jesus Christ! Blessed be Your Name and Son, Jesus Christ forever and ever! Thank You for making it plain to me that I can do nothing on my own to save myself. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, living in me, to teach me Your wise instruction and prepare me for full salvation when Jesus comes again.

Proverbs 13:1-2 “A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. From the fruit of his mouth a man eats what is good, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.”

Believe! Confess! Be saved!

Scripture reading for June 6th: Proverbs 3-5, Romans 10

Romans 10:8-13 “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is the Word of faith that we proclaim); because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.”

Salvation is not mysterious. God does not try to hide His plan for saving the lost. He has made it very simple and universal for all people, all races, and ages. The Word of God is preached. This is the Good News of Jesus Christ, Son of God, come to earth to reveal the Father and the Way to His House and household. Jesus shed His blood on the cross becoming a substitute for sinners. He was buried and experienced death for all. He rose again on the third day, conquering death, hell and the grave, having the keys and leading the faithful out. It is so simple that we must become like a child and believe with our heart and confess with our mouth that “Jesus Christ is Lord” and we will be saved! All who call on the Name of Jesus Christ will be saved. There are no ‘maybe’ or ‘hope to’ people in these statements! Amen!

Romans 10:17 “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ.”

Prayer: Father God, thank You for the simplicity of salvation and for its universal application to all people of all nations and cultures. Thank You for sending a believer to share the Gospel with me. Send me to someone who needs to hear the Word and draw them to believe, confess, and be saved as I share the Word of Jesus Christ with them. Help me guard my heart each day and let Your Word flow out of me.

Proverbs 4:23-26 “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.”

Believe and confess!

Scripture reading for February 22nd: Romans 10

Key Scriptures: Romans 10:8-13 “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart? (that is, the Word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved.””

Our salvation, whether Jew or Gentile, is based on faith. We believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that “Jesus is Lord” and God gives us His righteousness. This puts everyone on the same level ground. God is not partial to a certain race or a particular group or religion. God looks at the heart of each person and can see faith or unbelief. This is not just an intellectual process where a person acknowledges with his mind. He listens to each person’s words of confession and knows if the “Jesus is Lord” comes from the heart. When faith is found, His riches are freely given to everyone who calls on His Holy Name!

Psalm 145:1-2 “I will extol You, my God and King, and bless Your Name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise Your Name forever and ever.”

Faith confession and prayer: I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of God. Jesus Christ is my Lord! Help me to clearly proclaim the way of salvation to all who You put in my path. May the Lordship of Jesus be visible in my attitudes and actions as well as my words.

Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
