Tag: save to the uttermost
Scripture reading for October 22nd: Hebrews 7, Psalm 61, Proverbs 26
Key Scriptures: Hebrews 7:22-25 “And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath, but this One was made a priest with an oath, but this One was made a priest with an oath by the One who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever,'” This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but He holds His priesthood permanently, because He continues forever. Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Jesus Christ, Messiah, was declared by God to be a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. God’s decree is eternal and will never change. There was no official record of Melchizedek’s birth or death. His priesthood is eternal by the oath of God. Jesus is alive forever and joins that eternal priesthood as our High Priest. He can save all who come to Him and keep them safe eternally!
Faith Confession: I am thankful that Jesus Christ, Son of God, my High Priest, is able to save me completely and eternally. God’s Word is truth and will never change! Praise the Lord Jesus!
Psalm 61:4-5 “Let me dwell in Your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of Your wings! (Selah) For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your Name.”
