“Greetings!”

Scripture reading for August 24th: Isaiah 14-16, Matthew 28

Matthew 28: 5-10 “But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus Who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen from the dead, and behold, He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him. See, I have told you.: So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell My brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.””

Matthew concludes his Gospel with the best news ever! Jesus, after three days in a tomb, is no longer there! He is alive and on the move again. He is giving instructions to the women who first visited the tomb. He first sent and angel, but then personally greeted them and told them the same message. Fear was their first response followed by great joy! They ran to tell the message to His disciples. Later, the disciples gathered together and Jesus appeared to them on a specific mountain and there declared to them their mission and an assurance that He would be with them as they went into all the world with this good news!

Matthew 28: 16-20 “Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw Him they worshiped Him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””

Prayer: Father God, thank You again for the personal appearances of Jesus to those early followers, both men and women. Thank You that You gave a simple and clear mission of going into all the world and making disciples of all nations. You are no respecter of persons, sexes, or nationalities! You promised us the Holy Spirit to live in us and lead us each day to fulfill Your mission. Onward and upward!

Isaiah 16: 5 “. .then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David One Who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.”

A Glorious Throne–Glorious King!

Scripture reading for December 4th:  Daniel 7-10, Revelation 4

Key Scriptures: Revelation 4:1-3  “After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven!  And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”  At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with One seated on the throne.  And He who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.”

As John finished the dictation from Jesus Christ, he saw a door open in heaven and an invitation to enter.  Immediately he was transported to the throne room of God Almighty!  He was overcome with the throne and the One seated there.  There was light, beauty, color and preciousness that John described as best he could under the Spirit’s guidance.  John’s experience was similar to Daniel’s vision!

Daniel 7:9-10  “As I looked, thrones were placed and the Ancient of Days took His seat; His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool; His throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire.  A stream of fire issued and came out from before Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.”

Prayer: Lord, I long to see You and Your glorious throne and the thousands that attend to You.  Thank You for preparing us with these heavenly visions by Daniel and John the Apostle.  Amen.

Honor Christ Jesus!

Scripture reading for October 1st:  Isaiah 15-17, 1 Timothy 6

Key Scriptures:  1st Timothy 6:13-17  “I charge you in the presence of God, Who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in His testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will display at the proper time–He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, Who alone has immortality, Who dwells in unapproachable light, Whom no one has ever seen or can see.  To Him be honor and eternal dominion.  Amen.”

Paul charged Timothy with the sacred duty to love God and love others.  Christ Jesus could return at any time.  He, alone, is worthy of our love and obedience as He is King of kings and Lord of lords.  His holiness and power deserve honor and He will have eternal dominion.

Isaiah 16:5 “. . . then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David One who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.”

Prayer:  Lord, we long for Your return and the righteous rule of Your glorious throne.  We love You and give You the honor and obedience due the King of kings.  Amen.

The “New Song” of Heaven!

Scripture reading for December 6th:  Revelation 5

Key Scriptures for over-comers:  Revelation 5:9-11  “And they sang a new song:  “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals,  because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.  You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.  Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.  They encircled the throne and living creatures and elders.”

John noticed a crowd in heaven around the throne.  This crowd numbered in the tens and hundred of millions.  The elders around the throne were singing a new song of worship to the Lamb on the throne.  This song extolled the sacrifice of His blood for people of every tribe, tongue and nation and their transformation into a kingdom of priests that would reign on the earth!

Observations for over-comers:  Heaven will be full of worship and celebration of the sacrifice of the Lamb.  New songs will flow from those around the throne!  “Sing to the Lord a new song , for He has done marvelous things; His right Hand and His holy Arm have worked salvation for Him!”  (Psalm 98:1)
