Sunday rest and reflection!

Sunday August 3rd, 2014

Dear Friends,

Summer is flying by and school begins soon!  No education is complete without a thorough knowledge of God and His Word!  The nation of Israel gathered to study God’s Word and to teach their children about the importance of faith.  Without faith, we cannot please God!  Do your family and the family of God a favor and gather with God’s people to worship, study His Word, and pray this day!  Your own soul will be fed and refreshed, and your family will be encouraged by your example, and your church family will be blessed by your faithful example!  Jesus is coming soon–and quickly (suddenly)!

Sunday rest and reflection!

Sunday July 27th, 2014

Dear Friends,

When we gather on the first day of the week, we declare our trust and dependence on God as our source of strength and hope!  We acknowledge of our fear and respect of His great, love, and protection.  In Him alone is safety and security, not in our money, our national military, or our own knowledge.   We come together to worship Him, offer our tithes to support His world-wide mission to reach the lost, and to hear His Word!

May the Lord bless you today with faith that moves you to join with those worshiping our Lord!  Faith without corresponding actions is dead!

Dear Friends,

Summer is flying by!  What a blessing to see the crops growing and a harvest maturing!  Gardens are producing all kinds of vegetables and fruits and sweet corn is delicious!  What an opportunity to gather with God’s people and thank Him for the abundance we enjoy!  He is the source of all blessings and we are indebted to Him!   Worship, prayer, and a listening ear for His Word will bless you on Sunday!  He is worthy of our gathering and praise!

Sunday rest and reflection!

Sunday July 13th, 2014

Dear Friends of Jesus,

The days of summer fly quickly by!  Our year is well into the last half and life happens every day.  God has set up a rhythm of grace for His people to help them slow down and remember the One who provides all things to enjoy and who also is with each person during life’s troubles.  This rhythm is the “Sabbath” rest.  We are to work six days and then rest on one day and focus on God.  We gather with His people to worship, pray, listen to His Word, and refresh our spirits.  Christians meet on the first day of the week to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death and the grave!  Join with God’s people today and enter God’s rhythm of grace!  His “Sabbath rest” is available every day as you walk with Him!

In Christ’s Rest,

Pastor John and Mary

Sunday July 6th, 2014

Dear Friends of Jesus,

What a wonderful week of celebration of freedom in our nation!  We are truly blessed to live in the United States of America!  God’s blessings here are not to be taken lightly!

We who belong to Jesus Christ gather each week on the first day of the week to worship, pray, and thank God for His blessings!  We come to listen to His Word and open our hearts to humbly allow Him to transform our thinking to mirror His thinking.  We come to have fellowship with Jesus around His table in Holy Communion, remembering His sacrificial death until He comes again in glory for His redeemed people!   We will start a message series called “Seek First the Kingdom” on stewardship.  Don’t neglect God’s gathering of His people today!  We need each other and Him more and more as we see the end approaching!

In His Love,

Pastor John and Mary

Sunday Rest and Reflection!

Sunday June 29th, 2014

Dear Friends,

Our year is nearly half over!  We can pause today and reflect on God’s gracious provisions and faithfulness!  We are a  blessed people in one of the most favored nations on earth!  Many have died to leave us a wonderful heritage!   We want to pass this heritage to our children and grandchildren, so we celebrate and remember those who made our nation a bastion of freedom.

But One has died, the Lord Jesus Christ,  and rose again to give us eternal life and the ultimate freedom from sin and condemnation!   Let us gather today to worship Him and listen to His Word!  He is the source of eternal encouragement and hope!  In Him we live and move and have our being!  Join with God’s people today and celebrate Jesus, our Mighty God, praying for the next generations!  This is the most important heritage we can pass on to our children and grandchildren!  But they must receive it themselves by faith!  Our example and faithful prayers will make a difference!

In His Love,  Pastor John and Mary

Sunday rest and reflection!

Sunday June 22nd, 2014

Dear Friends,

Mary and I would like to thank all who prayed and sent us notes and encouragement this past week.  My father went home to the Lord last Saturday night and we had a wonderful home-going service on Wednesday.  We could feel the prayers and God’s presence was with us in a special way.  My mom, after 68 years of marriage,  is working through this with God’s help.

Jesus is the Hope of all the earth!  In Him, all families of the earth find true blessings of righteousness and peace!  His Kingdom is a kingdom of righteousness and peace based on His eternal love and faithfulness!  Let us gather to worship, pray, and honor His Word as it is taught and preached!  The King is coming soon!

Sunday Rest and Reflection!

Sunday June 8th, 2014

Dear Friends,

Praise the Lord for the Holy Spirit!  This is Pentecost Sunday, and another day to celebrate God’s gift of salvation and His gift of empowerment to live a holy life!  On Pentecost Sunday, Acts 2 records that the Holy Spirit came upon the 120 disciples of Jesus while they were waiting and praying.  A sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the house where they were and tongues of fire descended on each one.  The new “Temple” was filled with God’s glory and they all began to speak with new tongues and glorify God!  The presence of God could now be taken by each believer into the world to share the Gospel message!

Gather with us Sunday morning for a message of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and then come back tonight for a city-wide worship event with Rev. Ryan and Sara Delling of Eagles Wings.  “Keepers of the Flame” city-wide prayer events are open to all!  May the Holy Spirit fill you with joy and power to live a fruitful life for Jesus!

Dear Friends,

Another resurrection day has arrived and God’s people gather to celebrate and regroup for the battle for the souls of men!  This battle is waging fiercely around the world.  Satan and the forces of darkness seek to separate men from faith and from each other.  We gather to reunite and be built up for continued victory!  Jesus is coming soon!
