Scripture reading for June 14th: Psalm 57-60
Key Scriptures: Psalm 57:8-11 “Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of You among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth.”
King David knew that praise was befitting the Lord of all the earth and was his only logical response to God’s love and mercy! With instruments and song he vowed to awaken the dawn with praise and worship. This Lord of heaven and earth was loving and faithful and the news of His rule was to be spread over all the earth by those who knew Him and loved Him.
Awaken the dawn with worship: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:16-17)
