Freedom from fear!
Scripture reading for October 15th: Isaiah 50-52, Hebrews 2
Key Scriptures: Hebrews 2:14-15 “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”
Jesus Christ, God’s Son, shared in our humanity by becoming a human being. He identified with sinful humanity, but Himself was without sin. He experienced death, the penalty for sin, on our behalf in order to destroy the devil and his power to hold mankind in the grip of death. He set those in bondage to fear of death free forever! Hallelujah!
Isaiah 51:12-13 “I, I am He who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, and the son of man who is made like grass, and have forgotten the Lord your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, and you fear continually all the day because of the wrath of the oppressor, when he sets himself to destroy? And where is the wrath of the oppressor?”
Prayer: Lord, thank You for sending Jesus Christ, to deliver me from fear of man and fear of death. I am a free person because of You! Amen.
