Directions to Father’s house
Scripture reading for November 10th: Ezekiel 40-42; John 14
John 14: 1-6 “”Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.””
The disciples were troubled about Jesus sharing with them His betrayal by one of them and His coming departure. Jesus reassured them and encouraged them to keep on trusting in Him. His departure had a purpose. He was preparing a place for them to be with Him forever and ever. He would come again and take them with Him to be with Him forever. Those who love Him would seek to obey His Words and they would receive another Helper Who would instruct them and guide them in the Truth–the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit of Truth would uniquely be only with them and those trusting Jesus and knowing Him. Jesus Christ was the only Way to Father’s house, the Truth, and eternal Life. We are being ‘measured’ for our mansion!
John 14:15-17 “”If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.””
Prayer: Father God, how I long to live in Your eternal holiness and presence. Thank You for making that possible for me and any who will choose to believe in Your Son, Jesus Christ. I believe He is the only Way to Your House. Thank You for the Holy Spirit Who is with me now and forever, preparing and guiding me in obeying Your Word and sharing Your truth with those still looking for the Path to Your house.
Ezekiel 40:2-3 “In visions of God He brought me to the land of Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, on which was a structure like a city to the south. When He brought me there, behold there was a man whose appearance was like bonze, with a linen cord and a measuring reed in his hand. . .”
