Scripture reading for February 14th: Mark 5, Psalm 33, Proverbs 2
Key Scriptures: Mark 5:14-17 “The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened. And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind and they were afraid. And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon- possessed man and to the pigs. And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region.”
Jesus had cast a legion of demons from a man who was possessed and tormented. He sent the demons into a herd of pigs and the demons drove them into sea to their deaths. This caused the townspeople to fear Jesus’ great power and ask him to leave their region. Faith for further healing and deliverance was stopped by a spirit of fear! Jesus instructed the man who had been delivered to stay and share about the Lord’s goodness.
Faith’s confession: Lord, deliver me from forces of darkness that cause fear and give me boldness, faith and love to share with others the great deliverance that Jesus Christ brought in my own life. (Action step: Share your personal testimony of deliverance with someone God has placed in your life today.)
