The hour to reap has come!

Scripture reading for December 19th: Revelation 14, Psalm 102, Ecclesiastes 4

Revelation 14: 14-19 “Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud One like a Son of Man, with a golden crown on His head, and a sharp sickle in His hand. And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to Him Who sat on the cloud, “Put in Your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” So He Who sat on the cloud swung His sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped. Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. And another angel came from the altar, the angel who has authority over the fire, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Put in your sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe.” So the angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.”

There is an appointed time for everything under the sun! Solomon wrote this in Ecclesiastes 3:1 and John had the privilege of observing the end from the beginning as in heaven he was shown the vision of Jesus Christ, Son of Man, reaping the harvest of the earth. The wheat will be gathered into His barn, Father’s House, and given eternal life. The wicked will be gathered and thrown into the winepress of the wrath of God, His eternal hatred of sin and evil. The King of Kings will be enthroned forever and rule in righteousness and truth. He will show mercy to those who by faith have trusted in Jesus Christ but He will judge those still living for themselves. The Son of Man awaits the command to bring in the harvest!

Psalm 102:12-13 “But You, O Lord, are enthroned forever; You are remembered throughout all generations. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come.”

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Jesus Christ, Son of Man! Thank You for appointing the time for everything under the sun and for setting the boundaries of each life, even before the world began. Help me to be content in quiet rest in Jesus Christ. Use me today to share the Good News of the salvation offered through the Son of Man. May none perish in the winepress of God’s holy wrath at the harvest.

Ecclesiastes 4:6 “Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.”

Sin has lost its dominion!

Scripture reading for May 23rd: Romans 6, Psalm 102, Proverbs 9

Romans 6:10-14 “For the death He died He died to sin, once for all, but the life He lives He lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under the law but under grace.”

Sin has the power to hold all men and women in its grip. Sin uses our flesh and its passions to dominate us and hold us in slavery. Sometimes it is drugs, other times food, other times sexual desire, or a lust for money or power or control that enslaves us. Sin always leads to death and eternal separation from God. But God our loving Father sent His Son to conquer sin and defeat death on the cross. At just the right time, Jesus came to earth as a man and lived in complete obedience to His Father in order to be a Holy Sacrifice for sin. Dying on the cross, going to hell to announce His victory and strip the keys of death and hell from Satan, Jesus rose victorious. By grace through faith, we defeat sin and its power and penalty!

Psalm 102:12-13 “But You, O Lord, are enthroned forever; You are remembered throughout all generations. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come.”

Prayer: Father God, You have shown us favor, and in Your mercy have fulfilled Your appointed time by sending Jesus Christ. Help me today to live in resurrection power by presenting my body and its members to You for Your service. Through grace and the blood of Jesus Christ, cleanse me of all sin and its passions. Help me to lead others to leave their sinful and simple ways and live eternally with You.

Proverbs 9:23 “Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.

Judgment for the generations!

Scripture reading for December 27th: Job 31-33, Psalm 102, Revelation 19

Revelation 19: 1-4 “After this I heard what seemed to be a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven crying out, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for His judgments are true and just; for He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of His servants.” Once more they cried out, “Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God Who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!”

God had called in Revelation 18:30 for rejoicing in heaven from the saints, apostles and prophets over God’s just judgment of Babylon. Chapter 19 begins with a great multitude in heaven loudly shouting “Hallelujah!” and praising God for the judgments and the righteous vengeance of God on those who failed to repent but shed the blood of saints, apostles and prophets. All heaven worshiped God Almighty in hearty agreement saying “Amen!” All the redeemed of earth and heaven long for God to bring mercy to the lost and while on earth, are called to share the Good News. But there is also a longing for the removal of sin and corruption from the earth and those who, refusing mercy, perpetrate the rebellion. Only our Omniscient God can justly judge and righteously repay. He too would rather show mercy. We worship Him for His amazing patience and mercy but also for His righteous judgments!

Psalm 102:12-13 “But You, O Lord, are enthroned forever; You are remembered throughout all generations. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come.”

Prayer: Hallelujah! Amen! Thank You Lord for Your great mercy towards me and all the saints, apostles, and prophets! We are all saved by Your amazing grace by the gift of Jesus Christ and His shed blood. You have wiped away our sins and given us a mission to share the Good News. Thank You for Your promise of final righteous judgments at the appointed time. Let every generation bring You glory!

Job 31:9-12 “”If my heart has been enticed toward a woman, and I have lain in wait at my neighbor’s door, then let my wife grind for another, and let others bow down on her. For that would be a heinous crime; that would be an iniquity to be punished by judges; that would be a fire that consumes as far as Abaddon, it would burn to the root of all my increase.””
