Key Scriptures: 2nd Thessalonians 2:13-15 “But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this He called you through our Gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.”
Paul was thankful for the believers in Thessalonica who had come to Christ as a result of his ministry there. He noted that they had been sanctified, set apart, by the Holy Spirit and had believed the true Gospel. They had heard God’s call to salvation through that Gospel and now needed to stand firm in the truth they had believed. Glory awaits those who are truly saved and living in truth.
Faith Confession: I thank God for the Gospel of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. That Gospel called me into relationship and through the Holy Spirit I am standing firm in the truth.
Psalm 39:7-8 “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You! Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool.!”
