Rejoice in Renewal!

Scripture reading for May 18th:  Job 12-16

Key Scriptures:  Job 14:13-15  “If only You would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passed!  If only You would set me a time and then remember me!  If a man dies, will he live again?  All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come.  You will call and I will answer you; You will long for the creature You hands have made.”

Job was so miserable that he longed to die and asked God to hide him in the grave until the time of His anger had passed.  He asked God to set a time and then to remember him, even to call him up from the grave in order to have fellowship with him, God’s creature and creation!

Rejoicing in God’s coming Renewal:  God has set a time to bring about the greatest renewal ever seen!  “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever!”  (1st Thessalonians 4:15-17)
